Who We Are
Champlain Boatworks is a destination marina nestled in the Adirondack mountains directly across from scenic Valcour Island on central Lake Champlain in Plattsburgh, New York. We have a full service marina including: Service Shop, Boat Sales, Boat Rentals, Campsites with Camper rentals, Boat and Trailer storage, Bathroom/Shower/Laundry facilities, and a restaurant.
What Can We Do For You?
The Champlain Boat Club is designed for people who enjoy boating, but don't want the expense and work of being a boat owner. Members enjoy unlimited access to a fleet of boats. You may select from a variety of watercraft depending on the occasion; from fishing, tubing or skiing, to entertaining guests, or just a quiet and pleasant day on the lake. Why buy a boat when you can use ours?
Our service is what will make boating a truly enjoyable experience for you. Our boats are cleaned and fueled prior to your arrival, our car to boat valet service will take all your gear, including that heavy cooler, and stow it on your boat for you, and even take the boat out of its slip to an outside dock for you, or assist you in doing it yourself. We will instruct you on boat operation and when you return, offer boat to car valet service for you. All of this is included in your membership.
How does it work?
You receive unlimited use during your plan of any of the boats in our fleet. These boats include runabouts, pontoons, fishing boats, and deck boats. You simply call or email your reservation request (Guests can have up to 2 reservations at any one time), additional reservations can be made as you use them, always keeping no more than two pending reservations at any time. Reservation time slots are 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM, and 2:30 PM to 7:30 PM. You can reserve either time slot or both in the same day, but each time slot will be counted as 1 reservation. Email reservations must be made 48 hours in advance, in order to allow for confirmation, or just 2 hours ahead of time for phone-in reservations. Reservations will be subject to availability, but we will make every reasonable effort to accommodate your requested time.
When you arrive at our NY location you will be quickly checked in and provided with valet service, with our attendant moving by cart all of your gear, including coolers, to the boat and stowing it on board for you. We will also move your boat from the slip to an outside dock or help guide you out of the slip if you prefer. We will provide you with any instruction you might need for operating your boat. We can help a novice or an experienced boater have a great day out on the lake. When you return your gear will be moved, by valet service, back to your car. We do all the work, you have all the fun.
Compare our club fees to the cost and effort of boat ownership and you will see the huge advantage our club offers you. Choose from two different plans, designed to give you the most fun for the least amount of expense and effort on your part.
Captains Choice Program- this program greatly reduces the club fees for the boater that can do their boating on week days. Plan allows for unlimited boating Monday through Thursday during any week. The cost is just $995 down and (7) payments of $285. Payment period is from March thru September, with payments made on the 1st of each month, by on file credit card. If club membership begins later than March, of the program year, down payment and payments must be made up to date, full plan cutoff date is July 1st. New program membership after July will be prorated to remaining season. Full payment in advance on seasonal program will earn you a $100 gas card.
A weekend day (Friday – Sunday) reservation may be requested 24 hours prior to requested rental day for a fee of $75 for either time slot or $125 for the full day.
A free water toy package of skis, tube or wakeboard with tow rope and life jacket is provided, on reservation request, with any rental.
This plan also allows for a 15% discount on any houseboat rental.
Full Admiral Program- this plan allows you the unlimited boating as shown in above program, expanded to Monday through Sunday. The cost of this program is $1495 down and (7) payment of $355 from March thru September, with payments made on the 1st of each month, by on file credit card. If club membership begins later than March, of the program year, down payment and payments must be made up to date, full plan cutoff date is July 1st. New program membership after July will be prorated to remaining season. Full payment in advance on seasonal program will earn you a $150 gas card.
